It is a good option as it does not cause you any harm. According to the studies abbreviated MRI (AB-MRI) is the best additional screening exam for women with dense breasts. Sometimes traditional mammograms fail to detect breast cancer among women who have dense breast tissue.

Abbreviated breast MRI is fast and takes much less time to perform. Women with dense breast tissue are generally recommended for this supplementary screening method and it is really better than whole breast ultrasound.
