3 Different Types of Breast MRI's

The most commonly available MRI unit has a shape of cylinder tube. This tube is surrounded by a circular magnet. The patient has to lie on a table. The table usually slides into magnet’s middle.

There are also some other MRI units known as short-bore systems in which patient is not totally in the vicinity of the magnet.

There is also available another type of MRI units named Open units. These units are known for having a larger bore. Open MRI units take preference over other MRI units as they are more advanced. They are actually designed for patients with greater stature or those having claustrophobia. They also produce more detailed images, thereby giving a better insight into the structural framework of cells within breasts.
