3D mammography or tomosynthesis

Breast tomosynthesis an advanced technique and is specifically a type of breast imaging that uses low x-rays dose to detect cancer when it is mostremidiable. Breast tomosynthesis is an advanced technique of mammography. Tomosynthesis and mammography are similar as both of them are breast imaging techniques that are used to detect signs of breast cancer. Breast tomosynthesis is also called three-dimensional (3-D) mammogram and digital breast tomosynthesis (DBT), is an advanced form of breast imaging, or mammography, that uses a low dose x-ray system and computer reconstructions to create three-dimensional images of the breasts.
Tomosynthesis is also known as digital Tomosynthesis. A mammogram is considered to be the best screening tool for breast cancer available today, but everything is not perfect and so it cannot detect all breast cancers. Mammograms and tomosynthesis are special x-ray exams of the breast.
Mammogram
A mammogram is an x-ray exam of the breast. A mammogram is a machine which is specifically designed to examine breast tissue. It takes a different form of x-ray and uses lower doses of radiation than a usual x-ray. Because these x-rays do not go through breast tissue as easily, the mammogram machine has two plates that compress the breast to spread the tissue apart. A more realistic image is obtained with less radiation this way.

The risk of radiation from a mammogram is considered minimum and not significant. Some mammograms or “hide" in dense breast tissue. A normal exam is not convenant that a woman is cancer-free. A mammogram may show parts that are considered suspicious or not normal. When the mammogram shows a suspicious change in the breast but no cancer is found, the mammogram is called a false positive exam. And this technology is somehow advanced and is not available in all the hospitals.
