Mammography:
Doctors use mammography for the treatment of dense breasts
by finding early breast cancer. In this process, radiologists use X-rays to
look inside the breast. There are generally two types of tissues that exist in
breasts, that is glandular tissue and fatty tissue. A mammogram detects dense breasts
as more dense tissue compared to the fatty tissue.
3-D Mammography:
Mammography gives a single image of the breast, while 3D mammography gives a 3-dimensional
image of breasts. Other than cancer It can also be used to investigate breast
problems, such as a suspicious lump or thickening. Combining a 3D mammogram
with the standard mammogram reduces the need for additional imaging.
