Dense breast tissue, refers to the appearance of breast tissue on a mammogram.Breast tissue consist of dense tissue and fatty tissue. Mammogram detects dense breast as more dense tissue compared to the fatty tissue.The fatty tissue on a mammogram looks dark on the other hand, the dense tissue looks white.Dense breasts look white in a mammogram, that makes mammogram hard to find the breast cancer in women with dense breast.
