Breast Cancer Screening and Its Importance in Detecting Cancerous Cells

It is a fact that breast cancer is fatal. It is a cancer that forms in tissues of the breast. According to medical report, it mainly strikes the ducts or tubes that carry milk and lobules in breast. In fact, occurs in both men and women. Breast cancer is the second leading cause of death from cancer in American women, which is quite alarming and hence should be addressed immediately.

According to some medical reports, about one woman in eight will be diagnosed with such fatal disease over the course of her lifetime. In fact, it often increases with age and in fact, somehow associated with the family history of the patient.

That is why, it is essential to choose a screening test to detect it as early as possible to start treatment. Medical professionals often recommend screening mammography in order to detect the cancerous tissues. In fact, they suggest women should go undergo screening every year beginning at age 40.

Some institutes suggest women who have had breast cancer should seek medical advice about the frequency of screening. The aim of these institutes is to promote good health and protect women from breast cancer, which is dangerous and spreads at an alarming rate.  They also provide certain guidelines to doctors so that they can handle the case.

In pursuit of the same, doctor carefully examines the breasts and underarm region for lumps or anything abnormal. Women can also check themselves for any sort of lumps or changes in size or shape. This sort of particular exam helps to detect cancerous cells.

Change Your Lifestyle to Manage Breast Cancer

According to some medical reports, it is not clear that why some women develop dense breasts. In other words, why younger women tend to develop dense breasts as well as some post-menopausal women lose breast density. The reason could be anything from hormonal changes during menopause.
However, it is well known fact that some younger women may have fatty breasts while some older women develop dense breast overtime. According to some doctors, women who have imbalanced lifestyle, smoke daily, obesity, imbalanced diet, and other hormonal factors also cause breast density in women.

Breast density can be identified using mammography, a diagnostic test that uses low dose x-rays so that they do not affect women. Here, it must be noted that having dense breasts are not an abnormal condition and should be mistakenly ignored. Because according to doctors, there is a relationship between breast density and breast cancer, which may or may not be there.

But in overall case, dense breasts may increase your chances of developing breast cancer. But it must be remembered that breast density should be reduced to reduce the overall risk of breast cancer. Hence, it is advisable to talk with your doctor about breast density and discuss its impact.

Doctors suggest certain lifestyle changes to address the problem of dense breast. From balanced diet, exercise to consumption of fresh fruits and vegetables. All these things can balance the condition and allow people to lead their normal life. Hence, as a patient your aim is to undergo a screening to detect dense cancer.

Never Ignore Screening Test to Detect Breast Cancer

According to a report, around forty percent of women who choose mammogram are diagnosed as having dense breasts, which is a critical condition and should be addressed as soon as possible. Of course, it is not an illness; however, it makes it quite difficult to diagnose the signs as well as symptoms of breast cancer.
The reason is dense tissues look like cancerous tissues; that’s why doctors suggest mammography, other tests to detect cancerous cell.  Most of the time, doctors suggest Chemosynthesis, which is the best screening test. It is often carried out to identify signs of breast cancer. It is a non-invasive test in which breasts are studied carefully.
Any type of abnormality in the breast tissue structure becomes apparent in the images. An expert radiologist then studies these images. These anomalies can be categorised as cancerous or non cancerous as per their properties. However, here, it must be noted that if a woman has dense breast tissues, it becomes critical to differentiate between normal tissue and cancerous one.
That’s why to confirm the same, additional screening tests are recommended. One of the screening tests that is quite effective is Magnetic resonance imaging. It is carried out to deeply study the structure of the breast tissues as well as the blood flow.

According to medical reports, cancerous tissues have abnormal or increased blood flow, which can be easily detected. It is also an non invasive technique; however, not ideal for pregnant women.  So, if you have dense breast, you should not ignore it and must talk to your doctor to undergo screening.
